Less Shocking Yellow Treat® requires less shocking to get the job done. This saves you time, money and hassle. Safe for any pool Yellow Treat® is tough on algae - not on surfaces. Meaning it's safe for any type of pool. It also contains zero ingredients that stain. Keeping your pool looking beautiful after the algae is gone. Common Yellow Treat - Q&A: What is Yellow Treat? The United Chemicals Yellow Treat Algaecide is the most trusted algaecide for killing mustard and yellow pool algae. Yellow Treat is an EPA Registered patented algaecide that is designed to specifically treat and kill yellow, or mustard, swimming pool algae. The powerful chemical formula of Yellow Treat eradicates yellow and mustard algae from all types of swimming pools. The Yellow Treat Algaecide lid acts as a measuring guide; just use 1 capful for every 10,000 gallons of water and super-chlorinate. How do I tell when I have yellow algae? Yellow algae grows on the shady side of the pool, in corners, behind ladders and above the light. It can look like dirt on the side. In a covered pool, it can grow all over. Most of it will brush off. If none will brush off, look out, you probably have metal staining. Use United's Pool Stain Treat for metals. What benefits can I expect from using it? Your yellow algae will be immediately arrested and after you brush off any residue, your pool will have superior water clarity. Is it expensive to use? No! A 2 lb. bottle will treat 60,000 gallons, 4 times what most of the competitors can handle, and we do it better! How effective is Yellow Treat? It is so effective that 9 out of 10 pool professionals use it in So. California & Florida. We guarantee it! What does Yellow Treat do? It effectively kills yellow/mustard algae and starts to clean up the water of other invisible life forms. Does Yellow Treat have copper or other metals in it? No! It does not contain any heavy metals which can stain your pool. Does Yellow Treat affect my pool's balance? No! But if you over chlorinate your pool, you may affect your test kit results by bleaching and/or causing reactions with the test reagents. Simply add more chlorine/bromine neutralizer to correct the problem. Can Yellow Treat Stain? No! But you must be careful because you use chlorine to activate Yellow Treat and the chlorine can cause staining. Be sure to pre-dissolve the chlorine and broadcast the solution on top of the pool, don't pour it down the sides. Is Yellow Treat ok for my type pool? You can use it in any type pool. How safe is it for me, my family and pets? Yellow Treat is non-toxic when added to the pool. We treat your pool as though it is drinking water. We have let algae grow on our test pools and then treated with Yellow Treat. The president of United and his family swim in that same test pool. All our chemicals are produced with the idea that you and your pets could drink the water safely in an emergency. Is DPD (Pink Chlorine Test) the best for chlorine? No! Our extensive field experience has shown that the OTO (Yellow Test) is a better choice. Let the test stand for 5 minutes after adding the reagent. Don't worry about free or combined chlorine. United makes depending on DPD (Pink test) obsolete. We also found that DPD is less reliable. Is there anything different when using Yellow Treat? Yes! Your pool will go through a clean-up period that will last from one day to 3-4 weeks. During that clean-up period you may experience a low or no chlorine reading. Don't panic! Just chlorinate continuously. Don't shock! A chlorinator or feeder makes life easy and we recommend them. If you lose your chlorine residual during heavy rain, bather load, or high temperature, just increase your feed rate until the residual comes back. Do I still need chlorine? Yes! Yellow Treat is activated with chlorine. After the initial treatment, chlorinate continuously which is much better than shocking. How can my pool look so good without a chlorine residual? Just as judging a person by age as to how he feels is not accurate, testing of pool water does not always tell you what's happening. Many chemistries in the pool can affect your test results. As long as you're feeding chlorine and the pool water looks good, you are reasonably safe. Is Yellow Treat all I need? No! As great a product as Yellow Treat is, we biodegrade. We highly recommend that you use No Mor Problems® to eliminate all algae in the future. Also, none of our products need any particular water balance to work, but your pool on the other hand does. The main reason that you balance a pool is to control scale, corrosion and staining. United knows that you don't want to work on your pool, you want to enjoy your pool. Ask your dealer for a copy of the revolutionary Hamilton index for easy preventative maintenance. Can I get rid of algae forever? Forever is a long time. We have been able to stop algae for 13 years now. How? With No Mor Problems® used as a maintenance program. We suggest you start using No Mor Problems® 48 hours after adding Yellow Treat. Remember to add No Mor Problems® as per bottle instructions. You will see a visual improvement in water sparkle as proof of No Mor Problems® effectiveness once the stabilization process is complete. We also eliminate shocking!! Should I use No Mor Problems year-round? Yes, unless you close your pool in the winter. During the off season, you will need very little No Mor Problems® and you will save time and money on the spring clean-up Features: Just 5 oz treats 10,000 gallons. Biodegradable. Won't stain pool. Made to treat and kill yellow mustard algae. Compatible with: Chlorine, Salt and Bromine pools. Granular Chemical.

Pool Stain Treat is a sequestrant & a chelator. Those are fancy words for a metal holding, stain remover and prevention chemical. • Why do I need a stain product? A fact not generally known by the pool business is that all water has metal in it. We get 25,000 calls per year on staining and over half showed no metals when tested. Staining is the number 1 problem and it's the hardest to fix. Algae is easy for us to get rid of. • Does Pool Stain Treat remove metals from the water? A little metal will be removed from the water but no product is effective in eliminating all metals from the water. Many of our calls are complaints about competitor's products that didn't work. Since metals come from dust, rain, fertilizers, city and well water and other chemicals, it's ridiculous to believe that you don't have metals in your pool. United's position is that you always treat for metals and that will protect you from a bad surprise. It's like wearing your seat belt always when you drive. • How effective is Pool Stain Treat? Pool Stain Treat is the most powerful stain product in the market today. It is recommended by most of the fiberglass companies, the largest vinyl pool company (Doughboy) and plasterers from coast to coast. Thousands of pool professionals use Pool Stain Treat. • What can I expect from using Pool Stain Treat? First, you should know that stain removal is very difficult in many cases. Our normal dose rate is a 85,000 to 1 dilution. That's like doing the laundry with a drop of detergent. Your pool may clean-up in hours or take months to clean-up. Be patient. United makes other products that can accelerate the cleanup process but unfortunately they are more expensive. • Is Pool Stain Treat toxic? No! When diluted in the pool water, the oxalic acid in the formula is below the level of oxalic acid in spinach and rhubarb. We calculated that you would have to drink over 1900 gallons of pool water to get enough oxalic to be toxic. Of course, you wouldn't have survived the water. We do have some competitors trying to scare our customers but that's their fear of a better product. • Do I run the pump when I add Pool Stain Treat? It doesn't matter whether you run the pump or not. Some people like to dump the product directly on the stain with the pump off. It's faster and more dramatic but can cause temporary streaking. Follow the instructions, it's easy. • Will Pool Stain Treat affect my pool chemistry? Yes. The product is acidic and can lower the pH. You may also witness a temporary loss of chlorine residual. Don't shock. Just gently chlorinate. Pool Stain Treat is unique in that it performs in any pH range and is not super susceptible to chlorine damage. • Do I have to drop my chlorine or bromine residual before using it? No. Don't shock the pool and up to 3ppm of oxidizer is OK. • What is the #1 cause of staining? After 200,000 calls, United now knows that high oxidizer (chlorine, bromine, peroxide) is by far the most significant cause of pool/spa staining. As little as 3ppm is enough to cause staining. Shocking causes levels way above 3ppm. • My dealer says that I have to hold my chlorine / bromine residual above 3 ppm. Is this true? That was before No Mor Problems® was around. United has made high residuals a thing of the past. As we said before, algae is easy for United. We've eliminated shocking, also. Remember these are the #1 causes of staining. With us, a 1 ppm residual is plenty, even in Florida. • I have clear green water, is this algae? NO! That's classic symptoms of metal contamination. The pool is already trying to stain. When the water turns clear green, it's a sign of lots of metal and you should put in double the normal dose of United's Pool Stain Treat to counteract the metal. • What metals is Pool Stain Treat good for? All heavy metals. That includes copper, iron, manganese, silver, and others. Typical metal colors are: • green, blue, gray = copper • brown, gray = silver • pink, gray, brown = manganese • brown = iron • brown (Fiberglass) = iron/copper • I just plastered my pool, is Pool Stain Treat the best for it? Yes! Yes! Yes! For some strange reason, the pool business doesn't relate to the fact that the best stain removal product should be used as a stain prevention product. If it's the best for removal, it's the best for prevention. Stain removal is much tougher than prevention. DON'T SHOCK! It's good for any just filled pool/spa. • Is Pool Stain Treat ok for my pool surface? Yes. It is used on all pool/spa surfaces. We haven't found a surface that it can't be used on. Paint and color (marcite) are unique and be sure to follow the instructions.
